OUR MISSION

Our mission as a not for profit organization, is to promote lacrosse as a recognized sport throughout Canada that is unparalleled in developing; skill, speed, endurance and athletic dexterity. It accomplishes this by combining the skills of hockey, basketball, and many other sports to produce a unique sport of its own. Since 1998, the Kemptville & District Lacrosse Association has been recognized by and is a member of the Ontario Lacrosse Association as the administrative governing body for youth box lacrosse in North Grenville and the surrounding area.

It's Canada's "National Summer Sport" for girls and boys age 4-21. The Kemptville & District Lacrosse Association goals are:

  • To increase exposure of the sport
  • To increase participation and skills at all levels
  • To be recognized as a perennially successful organization
  • To HAVE FUN!

The KDLA currently runs three box lacrosse programs:

Winter Program
Our 7 and 9  week Winter Programs introduce new players, both male and female, to the basic skills and concepts of Box lacrosse, and provides returning players a chance to brush off the cobwebs since last season.

House League
Box Lacrosse is played indoors in an arena. There are six players per side, including the goalie. Players wear helmets and protective equipment on the upper body. A game consists of three 15-minute periods.

The lacrosse house league season is kept short to accommodate seasonal vacations and other summer activities. We start in mid-April and end the last week of June.

House league begins with instructional play, then progresses into weekly practices and games.

Competitive Lacrosse
For players who wish to play at a higher level, the Competitive season starts in mid-April and runs through to August. Participation includes a game and a practice during the week. Tournament play in Cornwall, Gloucester and Nepean.

Each Competitive team plays in the provincial playoffs, and is categorized into a level, based on their caliber of play, to promote competition.

Most professional lacrosse players have many years of Competitive experience at the Junior A or B level.

Bored at work or home, play lacrosse online.
